Sec. 17.

(a) Upon hearings before the board or any of its members, the board or such member may refuse to hear more than three (3) witnesses produced by the same party to prove the same fact.

(b) When a motion or pleading is filed presenting the question of jurisdiction of the board, the motion or pleading shall be heard and the question presented thereby determined before the application for compensation shall be heard on its merits.

(c) Where an employer has insurance under the Indiana worker's compensation act (IC 22-3-2 through IC 22-3-6) and the Indiana worker's occupational diseases act (IC 22-3-7), the signature of the compensation carrier by its representative on behalf of the employer in the discharge of their duties under the act may be accepted by the board as compliance with the compensation law.
