Sec. 5.
(a) An applicant is eligible for the educational interpreter permit if the applicant holds a valid high school diploma or equivalent and:
(1) successfully passes the EIPA written test
and successfully completes the EIPA performance test with a score of 3.5 or
above; or
(2) is certified as a
K-12 educational interpreter by the National Registry of Interpreters for the
Deaf.
(b) An alternative examination shall be allowed if the examination and its passing score are determined by the board to be substantially identical to the EIPA tests.
