Sec. 52.

(a) "Specialized medical equipment and supplies supports" means devices, controls, or appliances that:

(1) enable an individual to increase the individual's abilities to:
(A) perform activities of daily living; or

(B) perceive or control the environment; or

(2) enhance an individual's ability to communicate.

(b) The term includes the following:

(1) Communication devices.

(2) Interpreter services.

(3) Items necessary for life support.

(4) Ancillary supplies and equipment necessary for the proper functioning of such items.

(5) Durable and nondurable medical equipment.
