Section 6-3 - Mounting containers on wagons and trailers

Sec. 3.

(a) Either four (4) separate container legs or front and rear container saddles shall be welded directly to the pressure vessel by its manufacturer or by a qualified repair organization in accordance with 355 IAC 3-2-2(b). Container legs and saddles shall perform without structural fault or structural failure under conditions of actual use excluding transportation collision.

(b) Suitable hold-down devices shall be provided that will anchor the container at one (1) or more places on each side of the container to the wagon or trailer.

(c) When containers are mounted on four-wheel farm wagons, care shall be taken to ensure that the weight is distributed evenly over both axles.

(d) No container leg, saddle, or any reinforcement to any container leg or saddle shall be welded directly to the wagon (running gear).

(e) A pair of containers mounted on a single running gear and used for the field application of ammonia in conjunction with tool bars shall conform with all requirements of this rule.
