Sec. 40.

"Postexposure management and monitoring plan" or "PEMMP" mean a written agreement between a flock owner, the state veterinarian, and other essential parties in which each participant agrees to undertake specified actions in the agreement to reduce the risk of scrapie and monitor for scrapie in a flock for:

(1) at least five (5) years after the last high-risk or scrapie-positive animal is removed from the flock;

(2) at least five (5) years after the last exposure of the flock to a scrapie-positive animal; or

(3) a time period agreed to by the parties.

PEMMP plans must meet the requirements for PEMMPs in this article and 9 CFR 54.8.
