Section 2.6-7 - Cervidae official identification

Sec. 7.

Cervidae that are required to be officially identified under IC 15-17 and this title must be identified by using an official identification that is a tamper resistant eartag. In addition to the eartag, the animal may also be identified using the following methods of identification:

(1) Electronic identification that complies with ISO 11784/11785.

(2) Non-ISO electronic identification applied to the animal on or before January 1, 2015.

(3) Flank tattoo.

(4) Ear tattoo.

(5) Any identification device approved by the state veterinarian to facilitate disease control.

However, a person may identify a reindeer using an official method other than an eartag.
