Sec. 9.
(a) A training course provider shall submit resumes and qualifications for a potential instructor, including a guest instructor, for approval by the department prior to their use as instructors for any course.
(b) A person to be approved as an instructor for an asbestos training course must meet the following minimum education and training qualifications:
(1) Possess a high
school degree or equivalent as described in 326 IAC 18-2.1-2(b)(1) and either
of the following:
(A) A bachelor's or graduate
degree in architecture, industrial hygiene, engineering, building system
design, science, or a related field.
(B) A combination of four (4) years of
experience in asbestos inspection, planning, supervision, or cost
estimation.
(2) Have
completed the training course and successfully passed the examination in the
discipline that the person wishes to instruct. The training course must be
taken from a training course provider other than the provider for whom the
instructor will be working.
(3)
Provide copies of academic credentials and proof of field experience.
(c) The department shall notify the training course provider within eight (8) weeks of the receipt of the application if a potential instructor is not approved.
