Rule 2.1 - Asbestos Licenses
Section 2.1-1 - General provisions

Sec. 1.

(a) A person shall not conduct the following activities without a license from the department:

(1) Inspect for ACM at a facility.

(2) Develop an asbestos management plan for a school building.

(3) Design an asbestos project to be implemented at a facility.

(4) Supervise the implementation of an asbestos project at a facility.

(5) Work on an asbestos project at a facility.

(6) Implement an asbestos project at a facility.

(b) Except under section 6(3) of this rule, at any time while performing activities specified in subsection (a), a licensed person shall carry:

(1) a photographic identification card described in subsection (d); and

(2) an asbestos license.

(c) An asbestos abatement contractor shall employ a person licensed in Indiana under at least one (1) of the following disciplines to implement an asbestos project:

(1) Inspector.

(2) Management planner.

(3) Project designer.

(4) Project supervisor.

(5) Worker.

(6) Asbestos abatement contractor.

(d) For purposes of this rule, a photographic identification card includes the following:

(1) A valid driver's license or identification card that displays the individual's photograph issued by any state.

(2) A valid work visa issued by the United States Department of Justice.

(3) A valid United States passport.

(4) A valid U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services identification.
