Section 8-24 - Notification of serious illness, injury, or death

Sec. 24.
(a) Written policy, procedure, and practice provide that the juvenile's parent, guardian, or legal custodian shall be promptly notified in the following cases:
(1) Serious illness.
(2) Serious bodily injury.
(3) Death of a juvenile.
(b) Procedures specify and govern the following:
(1) Notification of law
enforcement.
(2) Notification of
child protective services of the division of child services.
(3) Notification of the placing
agency.
(4) Actions to be taken in
the event of the death of a juvenile.
(c) A critical incident report shall be completed for all incidents of the following:
(1) Serious illness.
(2) Serious bodily injury.
(3) Death of a juvenile.
(d) This is a mandatory standard.
