Subpart D - DETAILED PROCEDURES FOR THE CONTROL OF NOTIFIABLE DISEASES AND CONDITIONS
Section 690.362 - Cronobacter, including C. sakazakii and C. malonaticus, in infants younger than 12 months of age (Reportable by telephone, facsimile, or electronically as soon as possible, within 24 hours)

a) Control of Case

b) Control of Contacts
No specific restrictions.
c) Laboratory Reporting
1) Laboratories shall report to the local
health authority patients younger than 12 months of age from whom Cronobacter
spp. has been isolated in a clinical specimen.
2) Laboratories shall forward to the
Department's laboratory isolates from infants younger than 12 months of age
from whom Cronobacter spp. has been isolated in a clinical specimen.
3) Laboratories shall report and submit to
the Department's laboratory any food or environmental samples resulting from a
Cronobacter case investigation.
