The Health Care Worker Self-Referral Act applies to referrals for health services made on or after January 1, 1993. However, if a health care worker acquired an investment interest before July 1, 1992, the Act shall not apply to referrals made for health services before January 1, 1996. [ 225 ILCS 47/10 ]
