The numeric water quality standards for chloride and Total Dissolved Solids in 35 Ill. Adm. Code 302.407(g) do not apply to the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal from December 1 through April 30 for the protection of aquatic organisms. Chloride levels in these waters must meet the numeric water quality standards of 620 mg/L as a chronic water quality standard and 990 mg/L as an acute water quality standard from December 1 through April 30.
