Section 670.30 - Minimum Tutor Qualifications

a) A public institution of higher education that chooses to participate in the program must select a student who has at least the following qualifications:
1) a high school diploma or its
equivalent;
2) a passing grade in
relevant high school coursework; and
3) a passing score, as determined by the
hiring entity, on all tutor training modules required by the hiring
entity.
b) Prior to the student's start date as a tutor, the public institution of higher education must ensure that the student has:
1) completed
all essential and supplemental training modules required by the hiring entity;
and
2) read, understood, and agreed
to the public institution of higher education's policies, regulations, and
guidelines on the student code of conduct, anti-harassment, nondiscrimination,
equity, safety, and the Code of Ethics for Illinois Educators (23 Ill. Adm.
Code 22).
c) The public institution of higher education or the school district must conduct all required criminal history records checks under Section 10-21.9 or 34-18.5 of the School Code before the tutor's start date and must ensure the tutor complies with all other employment requirements of that district.
