Section 59.01.01.527 - MAXIMUM RETIREMENT ALLOWANCE

If the amount of a member's initial retirement allowance on the date of retirement would exceed the average salary during the member's highest thirty-six (36) consecutive calendar months of salary, then the member's initial retirement allowance will be limited to the greater of: the average salary during the highest thirty-six (36) consecutive calendar months of salary; or the initial retirement allowance based on credited service through April 1990. Optional retirement allowances will be computed after any limitation above has been applied. (3-31-22)
