The Department becomes involved in voluntary terminations when a parent(s) requests the Department to place their special needs child or children for adoption and when voluntary termination is a goal in the family case plan. Parent(s) requesting placement of a potentially healthy unborn or healthy newborn child should be referred to the licensed private adoption agencies in Idaho. (3-15-22)
