Section 16.03.04.135 - SOURCES OF VERIFICATION

The following sources of verification must be considered: (3-17-22)

01. Written Confirmation. A primary source of proof is written confirmation of circumstances. Written proof includes driver's licenses, work or school identification, birth certificates, wage stubs, award letters, court orders, divorce decrees, separation agreements, insurance policies, rent receipts and utility bills. Acceptable proof is not limited to a single document. Proof can be obtained from the household or other sources. Secondary sources of proof must be used to verify a household's circumstances if the primary source cannot be obtained or does not prove eligibility or benefit level. (3-17-22)

02. Collateral Contacts. A collateral contact is an oral confirmation of a household's circumstances by a person outside of the household. The collateral contact may be made either in person or over the telephone. (3-17-22)

03. Automated System Data. Information that is obtained through interfacing with other government agency computer systems. (3-17-22)
