Section 6-81-5 - Use of the fund

(a) The universal service fund may be used for any of the following purposes:
(1) To defray the costs of administering the
fund, including the costs of completing an annual, independent audit;
(2) To subsidize telecommunications carriers
that provide basic service to:
(A) Low income
customers; and
(B) Customers in
high cost areas; and
(3)
To the extent provided in this chapter, to subsidize telecommunications
carriers that provide basic service and advanced telecommunications service to
public institutions.
(b) Nothing in this chapter prohibits a provider of commercial mobile radio service from qualifying for disbursements from the universal service fund.
