Upon receipt of any emergency telephone call, an operator service provider shall immediately connect the call, together with the originating telephone number information, to the emergency service serving the reported location of the emergency, if known, and, if not known, to the emergency service serving the location of the originating call. In the case of an operator assisted call, the operator shall stay on the line until the transfer to the emergency service is connected.
