Section 21-8-1 - Conflicts of interests, director or officer of private organization in employee's state capacity

(a) An employee who serves as a director or officer of a private organization in the employee's official capacity is not prohibited from taking official action affecting that organization, provided that action does not affect the personal financial interest of the employee, the employee's spouse or civil union partner, or the employee's dependent children.

(b) Any discretionary action taken by the employee as a director or officer as set forth in subsection (a) shall be considered official action for purposes of chapter 84, HRS.
