Section 21-3-9 - Administrative fine for failure to file

(a) The commission shall notify filers of the failure to timely file a disclosure and the applicable administrative fine. The commission may notify such individuals by electronic mail to the person's state electronic mail address, first-class mail, or personal service.

(b) If notice is sent via electronic mail, the ten-day period described in section 84-17(i), HRS, shall run from the date the electronic mail is sent. If notice is sent via first-class mail, the ten-day period shall begin two business days after mailing, unless the notice is mailed to an address outside the State, in which case the ten-day period shall begin four business days after mailing.
