(a) The commission shall meet as needed for administrative action and/or the receipt of federal student information and/or federal funds. The commission may from time to time meet in any of the counties of the State of Hawaii. The commission may meet in executive session, from which the public may be excluded as provided by chapter 92, HRS.

(b) The commission may, at the request of the administrative officer or the members of the commission, hold meetings as it may deem necessary from time to time for the purpose of obtaining information necessary or helpful in carrying out its duties.
