Section 19-101-2 - Weight limitation

No motor vehicle or other power vehicle, or combination of such vehicles, equipped wholly with pneumatic tires, which has a total gross weight, including vehicle and load, in excess of ten tons shall be operated or moved upon that section of the Hana Highway between Kailua Village and Hana unless the operator has first applied in writing and secured a written permit from the department. The department shall erect 10-ton weight limit signs at each end of the above described section of Hana Highway and at such additional locations within that section of the highway as the director determines is necessary to give reasonable notice of the limitation.
