Section 17-794.1-31 - Education directly related to employment

Current through February, 2024

(a) The department may allow a participant who has not received a high school diploma or a certificate of high school equivalency, to attain a minimum level of education related to employment that may include, but is not limited to:

(1) Adult basic education;

(2) English as a Second Language (ESL);

(3) General Educational Development (GED) or high school equivalency, where required as a prerequisite for employment by employers or occupation;

(4) One hour of unsupervised homework for each hour of classroom time; or

(5) Structured and monitored study sessions.

(b) Participants in this activity must be supervised on an ongoing basis no less frequently than daily.

(c) Participants shall make good or satisfactory progress in order for their hours to count as participation.

(d) The department may pay for costs of child care, transportation, and supportive services for participants in this component, provided funds are available.
