(a) When an assistance unit is composed of individuals categorically eligible to receive assistance under the federally funded AFDC program and individuals receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI), the department shall determine financial eligibility and the amount of the assistance payment separately for the AFDC program and the state AABD program.
(b) A single financial assistance payment shall be required in the following case situations:
(1) When an assistance unit consists of a
couple who are eligible to receive financial assistance in the state GA or AABD
program, the department shall determine financial eligibility and the amount of
the assistance payment as a couple;
(2) When an assistance unit is composed of
individuals categorically eligible to receive assistance under the state funded
AFDC program and other individuals eligible for financial assistance under the
state AABD program, the department shall determine financial eligibility as one
assistance unit; and
(3) When an
assistance unit is composed of individuals categorically eligible to receive
assistance under the AFDC program, the department shall determine financial
eligibility as one assistance unit.
