Chapter 678 - FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE STANDARDS FOR INDIVIDUALS IN INDEPENDENT LIVING ARRANGEMENTS, RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT FACILITIES, OR DOMICILIARY CARE HOMES
Section 17-678-4 - Standard of need

(a) For individuals in independent living arrangements or residential treatment facilities, the monthly standard of need shall be one hundred per cent of the federal poverty level established by the federal government in 2006:
(1) The federal
poverty level for Hawaii shall be divided by twelve to determine the monthly
amount; and
(2) The monthly amount
determined in subparagraph (1) shall be rounded off to the next lower whole
dollar.
(b) For individuals in domiciliary care homes:
(1)
The monthly standard of need shall be the dollar value of the level of care;
and
(2) Changes in the standard of
need shall be effective January 1 of each year.
