Section 17-676-22 - Veteran's benefits

(a) All veteran's benefits, except as specified in subsection (b), prior to any deductions, shall be counted as unearned income.
(1) Benefits
may be available to individuals who served in the Army, Navy, Marine Corps,
Coast Guard, or Air Force.
(2)
Dependents and survivors of veterans may also be eligible for veteran's
benefits.
(3) Some of the benefits
available are service connected disability pensions, nonservice connected
pensions, retirement benefits for veterans with twenty or more years of
service, survivor's benefits to parents or children of a deceased veteran, and
aid and attendance benefits to totally disabled veterans.
(b) Veteran's educational benefits are exempt income as specified in section 17-676-80 for the financial assistance programs and section 17-676-91 for the food stamp program.
