(a) The branch shall ensure that all required information is verified prior to certification for households initially applying. Households entitled to expedited certification procedures shall be processed in accordance with chapter 17-647.
(b) The branch may verify SSI benefits through the state data exchange (SDX) and beneficiary data exchange (BENDEX) to the extent permitted by data exchange agreements with SSA. The branch shall not verify wage information through BENDEX.
(1)
Information verified through SDX or BENDEX shall not be reverified unless the
information is questionable.
(2)
Households shall be given the opportunity to provide verification from another
source if all necessary information is not available on the SDX or the BENDEX,
of if the SDX or BENDEX information is contradictory to other household
information and statements.
(c) Quality control errors stemming from inadequate SSA verification of information on applications forwarded to the department shall not be considered departmental errors.
