Section 17-655-17 - Disqualification

(a) When an AFDC caretaker relative fails to obtain or furnish the department with his or her SSN, the caretaker relative shall be disqualified from receiving assistance:

(1) The needy children, if otherwise eligible, shall be eligible to receive assistance; and

(2) The disqualified caretaker relative may continue to be the payee for the children's assistance.

(b) When the AFDC caretaker relative fails to obtain or furnish a SSN for any of the children or other adults in the household, the child(ren) or other adults shall be disqualified from receiving financial assistance and the caretaker relative shall receive assistance if there is an eligible dependent child and the caretaker relative is otherwise eligible.

(c) When an adult in a GA household fails to obtain or furnish the department with his or her SSN, the adult shall be disqualified from receiving financial assistance. Any remaining adults in the GA household, who meet the eligibility requirements specified in chapter 17-659, shall be eligible to receive financial assistance, provided all other eligibility requirements are met.
