Section 17-647-52 - Destitute households - new source

(a) Seasonal farmworker households whose only income for the month of application is from a new source and who will not receive income of more than $25 from a new source by the tenth calendar day following the date of application shall be considered destitute. Income shall be considered as being from a new source when:
(1) $25 or less of income that is normally
received monthly or more frequently has been received from that source within
thirty days prior to the date the application was filed; or
(2) $25 or less of income that is normally
received less often than monthly was not received within the last normal
interval between payments.
(b) The households may expect to receive income from a new job or may have applied for, but have not yet begun to receive benefits from:
(1) Public
assistance;
(2) Unemployment
compensation;
(3) SSI;
(4) Social security; or
(5) A similar program.
(c) The households may be totally without income for a number of weeks before the new source of income begins and the households may be unable to meet the households' current food needs.
