Section 17-1737-5 - Physician services

(a) Physician services means services provided within the scope of practice of medicine or osteopathy as defined by state law.
(b) Medicaid payments shall be made for medically necessary services when the services are provided by a physician authorized by the department at locations including, but not limited to:
(1) The physician's office;
(2) A clinic;
(3) A private home;
(4) An approved hospital;
(5) An approved skilled nursing or
intermediate care facility; or
(6)
A licensed care home or adult family boarding home.
(c) For the purpose of this program, the following physicians' services shall be nonreimbursable :
(1) Hospital visits to a patient in an
institution for tuberculosis, Hansen's disease, or mental disease;
and
(2) Professional services
rendered to an inmate of a public institution, including visits to a hospital
where the inmate is confined temporarily.
