Whenever a trade name is used, the trade name shall be used in conjunction with the name under which the licensee is licensed to practice. The only exception to this rule shall be when the trade name is used verbally. If the name of a licensed optometrist appears in the trade name of the firm and the optometrist's association with the firm is terminated because of resignation, retirement, or otherwise, the trade name shall be deleted forthwith.
