Subchapter 6 - APPROVAL OF NURSING EDUCATION
Section 16-89-37 - Accreditation

(a) Any Hawaii nursing education program awarded a certificate of accreditation by an accrediting body recognized by the board may apply to the board for approval, provided the applicant:
(1) Holds a certificate with a designation of
full accreditation; and
(2) Submits
a copy of the certificate and the accrediting body's accreditation evaluation
report.
(b) The board may renew the approval following recertification by the accrediting body recognized by the board if the nursing education program:
(1) Completes and submits a self-study
report;
(2) Submits a copy of the
reevaluation report and certificate of accreditation after each survey
performed by the accrediting body;
(3) Submits a copy of responses to any
recommendation made by the accrediting body and subsequent action of the
accrediting body;
(4) Immediately
reports any change or loss of full accreditation including the reasons for the
action, and the plans made by the program for reinstatement; and
(5) Maintains compliance with the board's
standards for nursing programs as set forth in subchapter
8.
