Section 16-304-2 - Compensation of expert witnesses

(a) An expert witness shall receive compensation in an amount which is reasonable for a person in the community of comparable experience, training, or education who performs the same or similar services.

(b) The office of consumer protection and the expert witness shall agree upon the amount of compensation to be received by the expert witness and the services to be performed by the expert witness before the services or any portion thereof are performed. The agreement shall be set forth in writing on a form to be provided by the office of consumer protection and signed by a representative of the office of consumer protection and the expert witness.
