Section 16-114-24 - Experience requirement

(a) Each applicant shall obtain prior to the date of application for licensure, appraisal experience as required in this section, and shall submit documentation by way of verification on forms provided by the director. Hours may be treated as cumulative in order to achieve the necessary hours of appraisal experience.
(b) Applicants for licensure as a state licensed appraiser shall provide evidence of at least two thousand hours of appraisal experience. A minimum of twenty-four months of experience is required.
(c) Applicants for certification as a state certified residential appraiser shall provide evidence of at least two thousand five hundred hours of appraisal experience. The two thousand five hundred hours shall have been earned over a period of at least twenty four months.
(d) Applicants for certification as a state certified general appraiser shall provide evidence of at least three thousand hours of appraisal experience, of which at least one thousand five hunred hours were obtained in nonresidential appraisal work. The three thousand hours of appraisal experience shall have been earned over a period of at least thirty months.
(e) Acceptable appraisal experience includes but is not limited to:
(f) Applicants shall produce, upon request, experience documentation in the form of reports or file memoranda.
(g) Experience obtained on or after January 31, 1989 must be performed in compliance with USPAP, and in conformance with the appraisal qualification criteria as established and interpreted by the Appraiser Qualifications Board.
