Section 13.1.2 is amended to read as follows: "The building or facility owner shall be responsible for the maintenance of fire sprinkler systems, private fire hydrant systems, standpipe systems, fire alarm systems, emergency alarm systems, portable fire extinguishers, smoke and heat ventilators, smoke-removal systems and other fire-protection or fire-extinguishing systems.

The owner of a high-rise building shall be responsible for assuring that the fire- and life-safety systems required by the building code are maintained in an operable condition at all times. A written record of the test reports verifying the operational status of these types of systems shall be maintained and shall be made available to the AHJ, upon request."
