Section 12-14-26 - Purpose

The primary purpose of a plan is to restore an employee to suitable gainful employment as quickly as possible in a cost-effective manner. The plan is written by the employee and the specialist, and is not considered a plan without the approval of the employee. The director upon request or when otherwise deemed necessary, shall take appropriate action to ensure:

(1) The provider renders rehabilitation services for the employee in accordance with the provisions of the plan;

(2) The employee complies with the provisions of the plan; and

(3) The plan is effective in restoring the employee to suitable gainful employment.
