Section 11-95-19 - Medical director

(a) It shall be the responsibility of the medical director to develop appropriate written policies and procedures to provide the necessary preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic services to patients in order to achieve the objectives of the facility.

(b) In cooperation with the administrator, the medical director shall:

(1) Develop appropriate staff professional educational programs; and

(2) Recommend to the governing body the names of physicians and dentists to be appointed to the medical staff.

(c) The medical director shall monitor and supervise all medical and nursing procedures carried out in the facility, especially including all infection control procedures and policies.
