A registration card issued to a qualifying patient or primary caregiver shall be valid for up to one year from the effective date established by the department unless revoked or voided. Where a qualifying patient's certifying physician or certifying advanced practice registered nurse attests in the written certification that the qualifying patient's condition is chronic, the registration card may be valid for up to two years, as recommended by the certifying physician or certifying advanced practice registered nurse and approved by the department.
