Rule 290-2-28-.01 - Title and Purpose

(1) These rules shall be known as the Rules and Regulations for Georgia Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program. The purpose of this program shall be to provide necessary assistance on a temporary basis to needy families with children and to provide parents, legal guardians, or other caretaker relatives of children with job preparation, work opportunities, enforcement of child support and other necessary support services to enable these named individuals to become self-sufficient and leave the program as soon as possible.

(2) These rules and regulations shall not be interpreted to entitle any person or family to cash assistance under the Georgia TANF Program.

(3) The Georgia TANF Program replaces the Aid to Families with Dependent Children Program.
