Section 64E-5.1405 - Performance Criteria for Sealed Sources

(1) The licensee shall assure that sealed sources installed after August 14, 1996 meet the requirements of this section. A prototype of the sealed source must be leak tested and found leak-free after each of the following tests:
(2) Sealed sources installed after 8-14-96 must be doubly encapsulated, the isotope or isotope and matrix contained within the sealed sources must be as nondispersible and insoluble as practical or rendered insoluble in water if the source is used in a wet-source-storage or wet-source-change irradiator and must satisfy the requirements specified in subsection 64E-5.210(14), F.A.C.
