Section 5C-7.019 - Test Requirements and Official Tests

(1) Test Required. All cattle, bison, dairy goats and cervidae in Florida are subject to testing for tuberculosis. Upon receipt of official notice from the department, the owner or custodian is required to present his animals for test as directed.
(2) Tests for the determination of tuberculosis in cattle, bison, or dairy goats are:
(a) The intradermal caudal fold test when
administered by an accredited veterinarian;
(b) The SCT when administered by a full-time
state or federal veterinarian in herds where advanced tuberculosis has been
disclosed; and
(c) The CCT when
administered by an approved full-time state or federal
veterinarian.
(3) Tests for the determination of tuberculosis in cervidae are:
(a) The SCT when administered by an
accredited veterinarian;
(b) The
CCT when administered by an approved full-time state or federal veterinarian;
and
(c) The BTB test when
administered by an accredited veterinarian at the owner's expense as a
supplemental test to establish the disease status of a
herd.
