Section 2B.55 - Photo Enforced Signs and Plaques (R10-18, R10-18a, R10-19P, R10-19aP)

Option:

01 A TRAFFIC LAWS PHOTO ENFORCED (R10-18) sign (see Figure 2B-3) may be installed at a jurisdictional boundary to advise road users that some of the traffic regulations within that jurisdiction are being enforced by photographic equipment.

02 A Photo Enforced (R10-19P) plaque or a PHOTO ENFORCED (R10-19aP) word message plaque (see Figure 2B-3) may be mounted below a regulatory sign to advise road users that the regulation is being enforced by photographic equipment.

Standard:

03 If used below a regulatory sign, the Photo Enforced (R10-19P or R10-19aP) plaque shall be a rectangle with a black legend and border on a white background.

Option:

03A (DE Revision) A Traffic Signal Photo Enforced (R10-18a) sign (see Figure 2B-3) may be installed on an approach to a signalized location where red-light cameras are present on the approach to the signalized location.

Standard:

03B (DE Revision) The Traffic Signal Photo Enforced sign shall not be installed on an approach to a signalized location where red-light cameras are not present on the approach to the signalized location.

03C (DE Revision) If used, the Traffic Signal Photo Enforced sign shall be individually installed on a separate post or mounting.

Option:

03D (DE Revision) A Signal Ahead sign and a Traffic Signal Photo Enforced sign may be used on the same approach provided that they are on separate supports.

Guidance:

03E (DE Revision) If used, the Traffic Signal Photo Enforced sign should be located on the right-hand side of the roadway far enough in advance of the stop line to provide adequate notice to approaching road users.

Option:

03F (DE Revision) On one-way streets or where a median of sufficient width is present, an additional Traffic Signal Photo Enforced sign may be placed on the left-hand side of the roadway in accordance with Paragraph 11 of Section 2A.16.

Guidance:

03G (DE Revision) If used, the Traffic Signal Photo Enforced sign should be located such that it does not block or obscure the road user's view of other signs or traffic control devices.
