1.1 Definition:
Single-Axle Tow Dolly is a vehicle towed by a self-propelled motor vehicle and designed and used exclusively to transport another self-propelled motor vehicle and upon which the front or rear wheels of the towed self-propelled motor vehicle are mounted, while the other wheels of the towed self-propelled motor vehicle remain in contact with the ground.
1.2 The Tow Dolly shall:
1.2.1 Not be titled or
registered.
1.2.2 Not be treated as
a separate vehicle when used in combination with another vehicle, i.e., when a
tow dolly is being towed with the front or rear wheels of another vehicle
mounted thereon, it should not be considered as one of the vehicles in a
combination of vehicles, but rather the tow dolly and towed vehicle should be
treated as one integral unit.
1.2.3
Be subject to equipment safety requirements such as lighting and safety
chains.
