Section 938-IV-48.0 - Hand Washing

48.1 A licensee shall ensure staff members and children wash their hands with soap and running water, including when gloves have been worn, and use paper towels or a mechanical hand dryer, as listed in the table in this subsection:

Before and After: After:
* Eating or handling food; * Toileting;
* Giving medications; * Coming into contact with blood, fecal matter, urine, vomit, nasal secretions, or other body secretions;
* Caring for a child who may be sick; * Outdoor play;
* Using a water-play or other sensory table/container with other children; and * Handling or touching animals or their equipment or after coming into contact with an animal's body secretions;
* Using shared play dough or clay. * Cleaning; and
* Taking out the garbage.
