61a - Additional Pay for Active Service On or After September 11, 2001
Section 27-61a-1 - Definitions

As used in sections 27-61a-1 to 27-61a-3, inclusive, of the Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies:

(1) "Active service" means active military service in the armed forces of the United States, or full-time National Guard duty, performed by members of any reserve component of said armed forces pursuant to a call or order to such service or duty during a war or during a national emergency declared by the President or Congress of the United States;

(2) "Call or order" means involuntary or voluntary mobilization of a member of any reserve component of the armed forces of the United States to active service in support of a named military operation;

(3) "Combat zone" means a geographical area designated by an executive order of the President of the United States in which the armed forces of the United States are or have engaged in combat;

(4) "Eligible member or veteran" has the same meaning as provided in section 27-61a(a) of the Connecticut General Statutes;

(5) "Major part thereof" means fifteen or more days of a month, or fourteen or more days of February.
