Section 26-157c-3 - Taking lobsters-otter trawls, beam trawls and similar devices

(a) In any waters of this state, on any vessel having on board an otter trawl net, beam trawl net or similar device capable of taking lobsters, there shall be a possession limit of 100 lobsters per day or per trip, whichever is the longer period of time, except that with respect to any vessel using methods other than pots and landing lobsters taken outside the waters of this state, said limit shall be 100 lobsters per day provided that, if a trip exceeds five days, such limit shall be 500 lobsters per trip. Said limits shall apply to the aggregate of all persons on board such vessel. For the purposes of this subsection, "day" shall be from 12:01 am until midnight, and "trip" shall be from the time the vessel departs from shore to begin fishing until the time that the vessel first returns to shore for the purpose of landing the catch.

(b) The transfer by any person of any lobster from any vessel having on board an otter trawl, beam trawl or similar device to any other vessel is prohibited.
