Section 19-24-7 - Surveys

(a)

(1) As used in sections 19-24-1 to 19-24-14, inclusive, "Survey" means an evaluation of the radiation hazards incident to the receipt, transfer, possession, manufacture, storage, use, operation, handling, transportation or disposal of radioactive materials or other sources of radiation under a specific set of conditions. When appropriate, such evaluation shall include a physical survey of the location of materials and equipment and measurements of levels of radiation or of concentrations of radioactive material present.

(2) Each owner of an installation or mobile source shall make or cause to be made such surveys as may be necessary for him to comply with the provisions of sections 19-24-1 to 19-24-14, inclusive.

(3) The adequacy of surveys shall be subject to review by the department's representatives.

(b) Each owner of an installation or mobile source shall maintain records showing the results of the required surveys. Records of surveys shall be available for inspection by the department's representatives upon request.
