Part 19 - Settlement or mediation conferences

At any time after a proceeding is initiated, any party may file with the Hearing Officer and serve upon all other parties a request for a settlement or mediation conference. If the request is granted, the conference shall be conducted by any available Hearing Officer, other than the assigned Hearing Officer. All of the discussions at the settlement or mediation conference shall remain confidential and shall not be disclosed to the Hearing Officer assigned to the case. Statements at settlement or mediation conferences shall not be admissible evidence for any purpose. A Hearing Officer may require a settlement or mediation conference on the Hearing Officer's own motion.
