Part 14 - LABORATORY SERVICES

14.1 Laboratory services shall be made available on-site or through contract.

14.2 Clinical laboratory services shall be available as required by the needs of the clients as determined by the clinical staff. The laboratory shall meet the requirements of the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988, 42 USC § 263a, and the corresponding regulations at 42 CFR Part 493.

14.3 The CC shall provide prompt follow-up for laboratory results outside the normal value range.

14.4 If utilized at the facility, the CC shall develop and implement policies and procedures regarding point of care testing.

14.5 If blood or blood products are maintained at the facility, the CC shall meet the requirements of 6 CCR 1011-1, Chapter 4, Part 14.2.
