Section 10410 - Scheduled Evaluation of Maintenance Treatment

(a) The medical director or program physician shall evaluate a patient's maintenance treatment after one continuous year of treatment. The medical director or program physician shall do the following:
(b) Patient status relative to continued maintenance treatment as specified in subsection (a) of this section shall be re-evaluated at least annually.
(c) The medical director or program physician shall document in the patient's record the facts justifying his or her decision to continue the patient's maintenance treatment as required by subsections (a) and (b).
(d) Each program shall submit in its protocol a specific plan for scheduled termination of maintenance treatment indicating an average period for a maintenance treatment episode before such scheduled termination. This termination plan shall include information on counseling and any other patient support that will be provided during withdrawal.

(Register 97, No. 7). A Certificate of Compliance must be transmitted to OAL by
6-24-97 or emergency language will be repealed by operation of law on the following
day.

3-4-97; disapproved by OAL and order of repeal as to 2-11-97 order filed 4-15-97

A Certificate of Compliance must be transmitted to OAL by 8-13-97 or emergency
language will be repealed by operation of law on the following day.
